Simple Homemade Lip Scrub

My lips have been extra chapped lately, so I decided to try a homemade lip scrub.
It was quick and easy to make, you can find the ingredients right in your kitchen. When it came to measuring I just made enough for 2 days.

 Ingredients
Honey, Sugar, & Olive Oil

Apply the scrub to the lips

Using my fingers I rubbed the product on my lips in a circular motion. Try not to rub too hard because the sugar can be a little rough.

I actually like how my lips turned out its more shiny and soft. I think I will do this 2 or 3 times a week. I add some lipgloss Revlon Pink Pop

Dry Natural Hair??

One of my friends wanted to know how to deal with dry natural hair. I want to share with her and others what I do to my hair or what I have read/learned since going natural. We all have different hair types what works for me may not work for you. However there is nothing wrong with trying out something new.

Oils, are one the BEST ways to help with dry and brittle hair. There is alot of different oils that can help reduce or control dryness. I went into a little bit more details about the different types of oils and the brands I use in my hair click here.

My Top Pick Oils
Olive Oil or EVOO(extra virgin olive oil)
Coconut Oil
Jojoba Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Sweet Almond Oil
Tree Tea Oil
Castor Oil

You can find these oils in your local supermarket, beauty supply store, GNC, etc. I put the ones I use on a daily in blue. Now there are 3 different ways I apply these oils to my hair. These things help keep my hair soft, smooth, and moisturize

1. In a Spray Bottle- I put a mixture of my favorite oils and water in a cheap spray bottle you can get a walmart or the dallor store. I apply it to my hair whenever it looks or feels dry. I spray this mixture in my hair also before and after I style my hair. You can do this in the morning or at night, just be carefully with oils they can lead to breakouts! Make sure you wrap your hair up at night to keep the moisture in.

2. Prepoo- its pretty much applying your favorite oil(s) to your dry hair before washing it. You can also use honey if you want. You apply it to the entire hair and scalp. Now you can leave it in for a few minutes(20-30), couple hours, or even overnight(I haven't done yet). Then you rinse that out and apply your conditioner/shampoo.

3. Hot Oil Treatment- This where you heat your oil(s) and apply it to the hair. For my hair it makes it appear shiny and smooth, without giving it that greasy look or feel.

Water, is a great moisturizer. Just be carefully or aware of "Hard" Water, which can cause your hair to become dry, fizzy, or itchy. It can make your skin dry and itchy as well. I know when I was relaxed I did everything I could to avoid getting my hair wet because it would cause my hair to frizz up. At the time I didn't know water was good thing for my hair. Now that I'm natural I apply water whenever I get a chance and I find myself walking in the rain, yes I said walking!! I don't RUN from the rain anymore..lol

Butters, Ok I wont go into much details in this area because I don't use this method, well not yet. Shea Butter is another product people use to help with dryness.

Cramps and Working Out...TMI??

"Crap, my cycle is on! I guess I won't be working out".

Well guys I use to say this all the time whenever my period came on. I don't know bout you ladies but my cramps are horrible. They would keep me in bed for days. Until a year ago I realize that working out actually helped with my cramps. I really wanted to go to Zumba, so I went my cycle wasn't heavy I think I was on day 4 or whatever. So the whole time I'm thinking shit WHY?? did I come! finally class was over while we were walking out it hit me "WOW, I actually feel GOOD". Now to be honest I thought well its  day 4 my cramps aren't really bad so did working out really help?? The next following month I decided to workout on DAY 2, I decided to workout to the in my living room just in case I passed out..lol

At some point I stopped worrying about my cramps. Once I was done I felt Great and I kept on working out on my cycle. Now there are times where I just can't do it.
So for those who don't workout on ur cycle maybe you should give it a try, you never know it could help.

Things I do while or Before working out on my cycle.
  •  Drink Plenty of Water (a must)
  •  Stretch before and after  (a must)
  •  I like doing cardio...zumba, steps, or belly dancing
  •  I like doing lower body exercises
  •  I try not to eat alot of fiber because it makes my cramps worst
  •  After and before I use a heating pad on my abdomen you can use a heating pad, water bottle full with hot water, etc.
  •  Remember to breathe and have FUN!!
  • Don't push yourself too much  Relax if you need to

Quick Weight Update

Last week I was freaking sick, I normally would push myself and workout anyway but not in this case. Every time I would try and workout it only made me feel worst, so I decided to just chill. It was hard not working out but it did feel good to relax. However the whole time I was worried about my weight-in so I made sure I didn't over eat and watched my portion size. I actually lost a lb so that was nice. I told you guys last week, I think!?! that I was getting into running and jogging. Well I decided that each week I would do a mix of walking/jogging/and running Monday through Wednesday and each week increase the miles that I do. So this week and next week I will do 2miles a day.
