Having the right workout gear is always important when working out. I wanted to share a few of my favorite accessories that has been helping me achieve the best results

Nike Free Run 2 I've had these for about 2 years and I LOVE them. I can't wait to get these in different colors. Their light weight, flexible, and well cushioned. Price on these varies

Gold's Gym Waist Trimmer Belt $4.97 This is a MUST HAVE item if your looking to slim down your midsection. This has help me slim down my waist dramatically. This will make your midsection produce a lot of sweat and if you use clear wrap underneath extra bonus.

Polar FT4 Heart Monitor $67 If you haven't seen this heart monitor your living under a ROCK! Its the talk of the town! Besides its cute color and design. This has been a HUGE help with my weight loss. I can properly track my heart rate, calories being burnt, and track 10 of my workouts. Plus its waterproof as well. It comes with a flexible waistband that helps track everything.

Reebok Fitness Gloves $9.99 I use these sometimes when I'm doing strength training.  Gloves are just a great thing to have so that you don't bruise and/or get calluses on your hands. NO girl wants that!!

I wanted to share a quick affordable and stylish way to store your perfumes. I saw a cute antique perfume stand online but the price for the antique tray was too pricey. Bummer! However one day walking through the Dollar Tree I spotted one for ONLY a $1! There were several different styles, but I decided to go with this one.

As I try and figure out WHY my body keeps waking me up everyday around 3am. 

I'm to share a little bit of my  morning routine.

Every Morning before stepping out of bed I read the Bible, Affirmation/Pray Journal, and Joel Osteen 31 Promises to Speak Over Your Life (I actually just finish) Really Awesome Book! Then its time to EAT

I drink a warm cup of lemon water, Herbalife Program, and then Biotin

 I decided to wash my hair and try out a new hairstyle!!!

Fav Workout Dvds

30 Day Shred by Jullian Micheals its a 3-2-1 Interval System that has Strength, Cardio, and Abs. Its a 20min workout dvd. I haven't done this workout for 30 days straight mainly because I only burn about 200-230 calories. If I do use this I combine it with something else like my Dance Central games. 

Dance Central 1-3 for the Kinect I know this isn't a workout dvd but this is a fun and awesome game to burn calories. *If* you do this for a least an hour you could burn up to 400. (well I have) There is an option in each game that tells you how much calories you are burning.

Insanity & Turbofire by Beachbody These dvds are hardcore workouts. I can burn up to 500 or more calories with each dvd. My favorite right now out of the two is Insanity because its more gear to losing weight and that's what my focus is on. Now the turbofire would be more useful once I lose the weight and want to maintain the weight.

Hair Braiding Safe on Hair?

Hair braiding has become a huge thing in the natural hair community. While lets be honest hair braiding has be around for centuries!  Its an awesome way to protect your hair during the winter season, after a big chop, or you just those months you don't want to do your hair. There are several different method/styles that can be achieved. I'm going to give you tips to help protect your hair while wearing braids that will keep your hair healthy and strong. There is no braiding method that will make you hair grow faster.

Tips

Before getting braids make sure that your hair is healthy and strong. Braids are worn for months at a time and if you hair is not strong enough it will break off.

No matter what style you have DO NOT get your baby hair or edges braided or too tightly. It can cause breakage and may not grow back. I know from personal experiences but the help of Castor Oil it grew back.

 Don't Keep them in TOO long it can cause tangle, matted, and breakage. 3-6 some would say is too long to keep braids in. (I personal think as long as you keep up with your hair it should be fine) 2-3 is a safe amount of time. Make sure to get touch ups and give your hair plenty of rest in between styles.

Make sure to wash your hair,  one thing you can take Witch Hazel or Apple Cider Vinegar and a cotton ball damp throughout your hair. Specially after workout!

My Weekend

I spent the weekend exploring the town, Friday we tried this new Mexican Restaurant the food was Awesome!! Saturday we went to Valdosta Farm Days. Vendors came out and sold fresh fruits, veggies, treats, and much more. I had a great time then we decided to walk around and window shop.

Last few weeks I've been consumed with Youtube and blogs, because lets face it a newly separated chick with no job has a lot of time to kill. I keep noticing everyone wearing these cute ankle strap sandal from Zara. I'm like where and how much? I'm going to keep it real the price broke my POOR little heart. I decided let me find some that are similar in style just so I can just drool over them. I actually found some! that in my opinion looks very similar. Once I my income gets healthy I will be ordering a few pairs. Happy Shopping!
